I attended the Maybe by Sarah Catalfo show at the Rivoli on Queen St. yesterday and it was fantastic! Sarah (pictured in her own yellow and black dress above) is an adorable and very talented individual. Her line mixes simplicity with eccentricity and manages to stay girly while bringing out the wearer's inner bad girl. Sarah has outfitted the singer Lights for music videos and events and has created gorgeous pieces that reflect the songstress's futuristic style. I could really tell that much effort was put into this line and that Sarah Catalfo is one to watch.

I've been fairly dormant lately... well... my blogging habits have been. It's summer, the weather's decent and I find myself walking about aimlessly spending more money than my job cares to pay me. Unfortunately, my wardrobe's been terribly boring so rather than showing off some mediocre form of dressing, I will grace you with a few images that inspire. I need cash and I need it quick. I have an interesting new job opportunity lined up... I'll tell you more about it eventually.

Say hello to my first pair of designer shoes... the classy and classic YSL Tributes! They're honestly a dream. I wore them to work today and they were actually quite comfortable for the first four hours. Although the super-high heels made it hard to climb the ladders in the stock room... and since it's prom season I've been checking the back for dress sizes like a mad woman. I wore my Tributes with an AA skirt and tank, Zara blazer, Miu Miu wristlet, D&G watch, and Liu Jo metallic wrap-around bracelet.

Anyways, I'm off to work on my short story project...

house of harlow 1960 launch party

I went to the launch party for Nicole Richie's jewelry line House of Harlow 1960 last Tuesday at Holt Renfrew on Bloor. It was amazingly fun with free goodies, vintage-inspired jewelry, drinks, and Nicole's adorable little self! I picked up a pair of her starburst leather and gold earrings which are FANTASTIC... and I got a free MBMJ bracelet in my goodie bag. Hooray for Holts!

Rome

Our road, like all roads, led to Rome. It was my third time in Rome so the sight-seeing was a little redundant but awe-inspiring nonetheless. Personally, the Pantheon is the greatest sight in the city... it never ceases to amaze me and inspire a gasp or two. We went, we saw, we bought a lot of stuff... and then we went home... to North America... to reality... to school... to work... to a horrid existence. I miss Europe immenselyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!

Siena

We made an afternoon stop to Siena which was rather exciting since I'll be studying there in a couple of years! It was an overall great day, we sat in the main piazza and had amazing espressos, shopped (Max Mara loves me), and ate at this delicious little bakery! It's such a pretty and rather quaint town. Definitely my second favorite after Florence.

After Paris was Florence, Italy... I swear I lived there in another lifetime. It is my single favorite place in the entire universe. The art, the history, the shopping, the food, the well-dressed and well-kept locals. Ahhh... I miss it just talking about it. I refuse to upload any photos of myself because i looked ever-so haggard after our overnight train ride. Yuck...

Next was Paris!!!!! Which was gorgeous... and had shopping that would put any American stores to shame. I even got to go to Colette... ahh it was too awesome for words! And of course I went to the Louvre, Versailles, Notre Dame, et al.

Although today's purchases do not even begin to satisfy the impulse to put myself into major debt, I did manage to buy some items I have been dying to get my hands on.

Exhibit A: The BCBG Max Azria "Nathan" shoe.

I have yet to take them off since the time of purchase, as they are not only sexy but super comfy!

Exhibit B: OPI's "Bastille My Heart" from their France Collection.

Since my nails were looking rather dull, I thought I would buy this loving shade of purpley-red to prep them up for fall. I am so impressed with OPI's France Collection that I plan to invest in a few more colors, "Yes... I can-can" and "Baguette Me Not" are the next on my list of must-have nail wear.

Yesterday was rather eventful and successful. I went shopping with my mom, grandmother, and aunt because I feel as though I've been neglecting them lately. On the outing, I fell in love with this Free People dress and had to buy it despite the fact that I really should be saving up for my trip to New York City. I spent a few hours at the gym, showered, put on my new purchase, and went to see the Batman movie. It has been sold out all week, luckily my friend managed to snag us tickets for yesterday evening. It was a great film, certainly worth all the hype and attention it has been receiving. I've heard that everyone accomplishes something great before they die, and I think Heath's portrayal of the Joker was just that... one last bit of his greatness.

I wore the Free People dress with vintage gold sunflower earrings, a gold Sweet Years watch my cousin brought me from Italy (I have it in silver from when I went to Italy), and BCBG Max Azria clear jellies. The jellies don't do much for the ensemble but since my shoe wardrobe is lacking, they'll have to do for now. When I go to New York in a few weeks I'm definitely going to be getting some shoes.

MBMJ

I'm amazed with the new MBMJ campaign. When I first laid eyes on it I smiled and thought out loud "Marc's done it again". It's fresh. It's comedic. It's a man in womans apparel... and an A+++ in my books. Cole Mohr has never looked prettier... the line itself isn't too shabby.

Hermès

Hermès f/w '08 line has captured my heart. Casual and simple warm tones and neutrals with intricate yet delicate prints make for a very pretty fall.

Balenciaga

Balenciaga's F/W '08 line has my vote. Bold and futuristic pieces with lots of black, white, and silver seem to scream FEMME FATALE!!!

Chloé

OH NO Chloé!!! I am not impressed with this line... especially with regards to the footwear and handbags which I find to be atrocious. With the exception of a few pieces of clothing this line (in my opinion) is a complete and utter failure.

Luella

All I have to say to Luella Bartley is... just because Halloween happens to be in fall doesn't mean that you should base your whole line on it. It's one day... and this line is grotesque compared to your Spring/Summer one.

Miu Miu

Miuccia... SNAP OUT OF IT! Miu Miu is not athletic wear... I want to cry. This line is as bad as the trip she must have had while creating it. Oh and the shoes are horrid for example...

But the shoes of Miuccia's Prada line are no better... best described as an acid tripping fairy, have a look:

Last, but certainly not least, for the good of fall/winter '08 is BCBG Max Azria. This line is clean-cut, neutral, and very chic. I am very proud to work for such a fabulous company, and even more grateful for the lovely discount that accompanies the job. I'm certainly investing in some of these items!!!

Liu Jo is an amazing italian label, that's amazingly pricey, but worth every euro.
All I could afford was a measly metallic silver bracelet bearing the company's name in rhinestones, which has actually become a staple in my daily accessorization.
